I cannot express how bad I feel for you, Crix... I lost my HD once before, but even then, it didn't have as many things and manhours put on it as you...

If I lost my HDD now, I'm pretty sure I'd fall into clinical depression (that's how much stuff I have stored, organized, and categorized in my drive).

I lost my hard drive once (and four years of work on a novel), and DID fall into clinical depression.

I always have my important shit backed up on CDs. I lost my HD about a year ago and it was not fun

Data recovery is expensive. Depends on what went wrong. There is ActionFront in addition to drivesavers.

If it makes you feel any better, on every model I've ever lost, I redid it in half the time, with a lower polycount, and it looked better.
