Why is Pippin with Gandalf?

Pippin is with Gandalf because Suaron and co think Pippin has the ring, so Gandalf was taking him to Minas Tirath as the best way to protect him. I also imagine it's to lead Sauron's forces into one final battle instead of a bunch of smaller battles.

I know that. But Pippin didn't come with Gandalf on Shadowfax. He ran out to the gate to find Gandalf after Denethor went nuts.

Well, beats me then. I assume that part of the reason that was the final shot on the ROTK preview was because it is very effective in getting people to want to see the movie. It seems to be working so far.

Kickass. I would stll prefer the fell beasts to be all black rather than blue and green, as that one seems to be.
