This must be Palpatine before he found the Dark Side.
Considering that a few moments after this shot he gets barbequed for talking smack to a big friggin' dragon maybe it's the Dark Side that helps him recover?

"Unclean beast. Get thee down".
"May ye be consumed by the fires that made thee". (I might have messed up this second part).
And shortly after that he's toast.
I can see why he took a small part like this. He get's a good speach followed by a dramatic death.

I am trying to find a copy on Kazaa right now
I havent seen it in years.. But yes... It was a good scene.
I actually got mad at Galen when he killed the baby dragons...
And of course, I love the mob rule of the Lottery.
"Stir the tiles!!" I actually scream that while playing bingo...

Brother Palpatine's robe was always so much darker than the other monks', the deacon noted.

It just came out on DVD this week (October 21st).
There are absolutely no extras what-so-ever on it but it is a decent print and in the original aspect ratio.
It also seemed to me that there may have been some parts edited back into the film that weren't in my VHS copy. I could just be faulty memory on my part but the widescreen format is great. I never realized that one of the baby dragons actually chews the princess' foot off. Previously it had only looked like they nawed on her but on the DVD the baby dragon actually has the princess' severed foot in its mouth when Galen kills it.
