Not really. Thanksgiving stems from a real event (Pilgrims and native americans during the 1600s).
Now Christmas, on the other hand, many people claim is a Christian thing, even though it was originally pagan.

Thanksgiving is an American holiday celebrating a feast held by Puritan Europeans shortly after they sailed to Plymouth, Massachussetts in 1620 after fleeing England. They broke bread with the native American Indians in the area, and every year we Americans use it as an excuse to stuff ourselves full of turkey and stuffing and watch football all day before nodding off and waking up later to gorge ourselves on turkey sandwiches and pie.
