It's a reference to the ingenious 8-bit theatre.Rye wrote:It looks like those arab swords, which is intentional with a name like swordopolis, i guess.
Curved blades are slashing weapons, not chopping weapons. More finesse than strength.I'd worry about a) having almost no impact area to hit opponents with
Yes in fact it is. Like many curved-bladed swords produced in Europe during the late period, the back of the blade has an edge from the tip down the first third of the blade or so.Raxmei wrote:It looks like the back edge is sharpened. Is that deliberate?
The curve was meant more to emulate a sabre, but I didn't have a model illustration in front of me to work from and it looked less extreme when I was drawing it, to be honest. I'm going to have to re-draw the entire sword. Anything that long with a curve more than a Katana or a sabre is going to be a complete liability in a swordfight. The only things you see curved that much are some of the more extreme cutlasses and scimitars, chopping weapons designed more for intimidation than actual use. It's crap. Straighten the blade out a bit and it'd be great, but right now it's a danger to it's owner.
