'Dragons: The Runner'? A game? An animation? It would be a lot easier to get exited about if I knew what it is.

No, an 11 minute movie for now, but I've decided to make atleast one game based in the Dragons universe using the Dark Basic utility.
It will probably be a 3D Space Combat Sim, though I may make a 3d Real Time strategy, or a 3D Turn Based Strategy also/instead.
In any case, I want to make a game where there can litterally be thousands of ships on the screen at once, so the LODing alone will be quite a challenge. I'll keep you posted, but don't expect anything on this front for quite a while. I obviosly want to finish the animation first.

I think A mod needs to sticky a thread about Dragons: the runner with all the pics from this so we don't need to go hunting for them.

We could just keep fan whoring (I don't have a problem with that, the particle effects alone warrant that) and keep the thread bumped, if all else fails. At any rate, I'll second the sticky nomination.

I get the feeling that they were initially assuming it was for a game (since they haven't seen the threads about this posted over the last two months), so therefore assumed any in-game graphics would have a comparable polycount and particle/lighting effects.
Granted, it's really good and sweet-looking GC, so the movie will look really good, but comparing the CG movie to a possible 3D game is like comparing frescos to tumbnail sketches.
But yes, you are definitely jealous.
Oh, and Fuzzy Modem? Diablo wants its font back.
