You know for once I agree with Iceberg, the Democrats taking the presidency would be an epic fantasy.

Actually, I would have Dean as a The Angriest Dwarf if I were to cast him in LoTR.

This made me laugh; They're talking about John-Rhys Davies being conservative (naturally, this is a conservative message board):

From this link:

Thanks for the post, its always good to hear a actor/actress speak with common sense. If you watch it closely Lord of the Rings is a good analogy of the war on terror.

Ex.
Bush = Gandolf : wise, knowledgeable leader

Chirac = Saruman : willing to sell out the world to evil for money, and power

Not only does this guy completely not understand geopolitics, he clearly doesn't understand Lord of the Rings very well if he thinks Gandalf was the LEADER.

Gandalf's only stint as a leader came during Return of the King, when Denethor had been driven mad, before Aragorn arrived to turn the tide of the Battle of the Pelennor Fields - as all wise counsellors must do when the ruler is beset by madness. During what other time did he lead? During the Fellowship of the Ring, Gandalf was among equals within the Fellowship - all members of the Fellowship, save the Hobbits, led at different times. And during The Two Towers, Gandalf moved to rally Rohan while Theoden-King led the defense of Helm's Deep. Aragorn, Boromir and Faramir were captains of men, Gandalf a counsellor.
