It's not as if the Democrats don't have the same philosophy...
The only difference is that the Republicans want to spend all the money on private interests, and the Democrats want to spend it all on government programs. I'm pretty sure Clinton tried to create a "An Excuse To Spend More Money" department, but it got axed because they couldn't think of a good acronym for it... :D

Homeland Security fits that description quite well, actually.

As for Clinton...it's true that spending didn't go up during the Clinton years nearly as much as it has gone up during the first Bush years. But certainly not for lack of effort on the part of the Clinton Administration.

I like how the card extends to 2005, but I hope the Dems are prepared to bitch and make jokes like this for another 4 years, because they're gonna.
