How did you do it, dude? It cane's serious arse (that's aussiespeak for "Bitchin'" ). The big green planet looks like a radioactive wasteland, well - it glows in the dark, at least. What's the scene anyway? Just random planets/moons? You must teach me how to do that kind it thing. Please?

Very nice, I'm using it as my background at work (even though an 800 by 600 would fit better, but centered it looks good).

Terragen is a little sharware terrain generation utility. I used it to make the primary moonscape. The two background planets were made with the Photoshop plugin 'Lunarcell' by Flaming Pear.

I don't believe so :(

However, the terrain is just a GreyScale Height Map. I believe you can export the map once you pay for the program.

oh, so it´s not a thredimensional landscape. too bad, that´s actually what i´ve been looking for.
maybe one could use it to create textures and bump maps, for landscapes which don´t have large changes in altitude like canyons and mountains?

It is a 3D landscape. The terrain is generated by a grey scale height map. Height=Dimention

Although it does look nice, there are some things bugging me about the 2 spacescapes.

In the first one, it appears as though the two moons are too close to the big green planet. I keep thinking that either the moons should be farther apart, or that Green planet should be made into a gasgiant and enlarged a little.

With the second, I don't know how you would do this but perhaps make the cloud swirls less... swirly. They look too fake, for some reason. I can't really put my finger on it.

They're still really good, and I still wish I could do the same. A long time ago I actually could, but now I don't have a graphics program, and even if I did I've probably forgotten how I did my own spacescapes etc. But being able to do a spacescape or scene would be cool for me.

just a suggestion aboout the first picture ... the orange halo of the main planet or moon doesn't seem to follow the line of the horizon. to the left and to the right, it's quite sky rocketing. was that realy your intention?
