Thoughts?
Where does the pilot go?

The pilot goes inside. Middle front. He sits leaning forward, like on a mountain bike.

Any and all suggestions are welcome. I'm not sure where to go with this design.

The ships is about 10 meters long.

Just a personal opinion...I don't like it. I mean, maybe it's because it just doesn't fir the archetypal space fighter we're used to, and just asthetically, to me, it's not very...interesting? on the plus side, it *does* look like a card....

I think that will be a pretty uncomfortable position for a fighter pilot ... especialy when involved into a dog fight (unless you put some realy good inertial dumpers on that card)

Couldn't it be piloted by an artificial intelligence? It's quite a mystery why that idea hasn't been explored more by sci-fi writers. :?

'cos it's boring. Stories are about characters I'm afraid, not machines. Give the machine some character we can identify with and maybe, but just a machine? Nah.

Ever heard of HAL9000 or Marvin The Paranoid Android?

Whoever said the story has to focus on a starfighter?

Because of the Insane-AI-that-trashes-everything stereotype. Besides, what's the point of having the AI run everything, anyway? They'll only run amok and destroy humanity. Didn't you watch the Terminator films? :P

I think it may have too much surface area for its mass. it's an interesting and original design though. If you expanded the cockpit and beefed up the engine area it would look sweet. You could also add a subtle taper from stern to bow.... 5 maybe 10 degrees.

if the cockpit was a bit larger, and actually big enough to comfortabl seat a human pilot, then it might be a feasible design. it doesn't really look too comfortable imo.what type of missions would it be used for? air? space? or would it be used to protect capital ships?
