They are...Asthetically pleasing. Though, not...spectacular. You can do better! (But they are quite neat!)

A real ring world would not look like that. it would look considerably different, much thinner. and whats with the atmo?

Atmo=Nebulae, I think.

im being too nitpicky here, im sure, but nebulae dont look like that. you wouldnt see it from within. the entire thing looks.. wrong. .

It's too bright, in my opinion.
What if you made the stars darker, like red dwarfs?

looks to me like its coming out of the star....

Yeah, the gas stuff needs to go. It makes it too busy, nevermind that you can't make out what it's supposed to be.
Better would be to change them to dim red dwarfs. That should also help the scaling, too.

Erm, i'd just like to add that quasars are actually galaxies that shit out loads of stuff from the centre, not stars.
Personally, i think it'd be cooler if you had cities on the curved side of them, maybe a few docks with ships in, and a few ships flying about, so we get a sense of scale, which i think is missing in both of those, as it looks like the stars are far too close to the ringworlds and each other, as well as beign too small.
I like the rods/spires though, i think if you do put cities on the rings, more spires would be cool.

Maybe the "atmospheres" are the products of some weird stellar phenomena.
I love the work anyway. It'd be better if you could make them wallpaper-size.

What the hell resolution is your desktop?

1024x768.
The 1024 one he has is 1024xsomething else. That'd skew the image.
I'd probably make it wallpaper myself but that would mean I have to add black bars to the top and bottom.

shinova: just center it on your desktop and set the bg color to black so that the black bars are just there by default.

I don't know what the hell anyone else is thinking, but those shots are amazing!
Good work, dude!
