Pretty nice work. I'm not an Anime fan, but that guy really has tallent. And that ship looks like an overpowered and overgunned version of an F15 (I would go for an F14, but it's single seated)

They are very nice ... does it say what he uses to make them?

Most of them are modified kits.

Very nice work.

The spankmeister answered my question. I would have been REALLY impressed if these were from scratch using like....some kind of special epoxy/clay and he sculpted them out of that. Still, though, the realism (LOOK AT REI! ) is excellent.

If you poke around a little, you can find sections showing how he worked on some of them. It's really quite amazing how much work he's put into some of them.

You know who also had a lot of talent?

Click. This is more worthy of your praise.

Yummy. Hmm, I just noticed something. David has the face of Frodo Baggins and his body looks exactly like my deuce boyfriend Marquis' body, except Marquis has better legs... :teeth:

Now why did you do that, Koji?

Because people in this forum give undue, excessive praise to mediocre, and some times unworthy work.

They don't compare. Michalangelo was a genius-level Renniasence artist, while this guy is a normal person who does admirable and very difficult work with an ordinary medium.

Just because it doesn't fit your occasionally fucked up definitions of art doesn't mean we should feel ashamed or debased for admiring it.

You can be a real fucking dick, you know that, asshole.

So admirable and difficult that it's equivalent to mass manufactured stuff put out by various companies.

No, but it does mean that you shouldn't go around praising it like its some unseenbefore talent when it's quite typical work.

Whatever. Apparently you didn't see that he virtually rebuilds some of them into entirely different figures with little evidence of such modification, or you just don't give a fuck.

And just so you know, many of those are Japanese resin kits, which while manufactured are done so on a rather limited basis.

Most people who build resin figure kits do not invest anywhere near such a level of detail or modification.

While it might not be a example of fine or exceptional art, I personally think that what he did is a very admirable craft. I would certainly love to be able to do that, considering my current level of model building.

More importantly it was a thread hijack, which, last i heard, is against board rules.

Yes, I like Michelangelo, but this is not a thread about Michelangelo. This is a thread about someone in Japan making (quite impressive) resin models of human subjects and machines. I think Michelangelo wouldn't appreciate your attemped theft of this person's thunder. :)

Have A Nice Day.™
