This is a basic idea for a sig banner that i'm tossing around. How does it look?

While it isn't the easiest text to read, this is due to the flame effect, which is quite nice. So I say it's good.

It looks pretty good, although I would make it a little less wavy. Not much, just a little less, so you can read it easier.

How's this?

And while i'm at it, does anyone know of a good tutorial for making gunshots with the gimp? wingimp.org's confuses me. I think they may have left out a few steps because it never seems to make sense to my simple little brain.

I think (assuming you're going for realistic flame effects) that the second one looks too streaky. It doesn't look like fire/lava anymore. I do, however, like the adjusted font itself better.
