I'm fairly good with Poser, got a few awards over at Renderosity even for my amateurish simple works.. but I REALLY want to learn 3DS Max.. anyone know the best way to learn? I don't think I can afford a class..

3ds max comes with a whole bunch of tutorials. they´re good.
if you need more there´s always books you can buy. don´t be cheap when buying books. you might find a really thick 10$ book but it´s most likely going to be crap. spend 30 - 50 dollars on a max book and you´ll get something decent. the cheap one´s are usually just a waste of money.

There's lots of online tutorials as well, though personally I don't use Max much. Playing around with it helps too.

I found looking at other people's work helps. Play around with settings, experiment.
Btw, Shinova, that's a great Aruceid avatar you have there
