Alien queen

Post by Antares »

hum...

I just finished my "low poly" alien queen ^^

Have a look (with subdivision surfaces you see about 670000 faces on these pics):

http://www.silentthunder.de/pics/queen/

If somebody wants a pic from another angle tell me.

Work time was about 120h but the bone system isnt completed yet. the toes for example dont have a seperate bone system.

For textureing i've got two persons who might help me. they have more experience with 2D software than me. otherwise i have to to texturing myself :(

More pics with including a scene are coming soon.

I used a (for me) complete new modelling technique, which worked quite well. the hole modelling process was never hard. it was so easy that it amazed me again and again.

So now lets hear your c&c :)

WOW!

She's beautiful! Great job on her.

The bottom shot is especially awesome.

I can't wait for a fully skinned version (ahem, desktop :) )

Make sure to use a good rendering method when you get done with the texturing, so that it doesn't look like it's made out of shiny plastic.

Very nice...but is she going to be a bit more larger?

From a cursory look she looks bigger but not exactly that differing from a bigger Alien...though my memory maybe just failing me.

Still very nice.

Sorry, but there is no compareable object in any picture, so "size" is very relative in this case.

True after a better look I was moreorless meaning the head but you have the ridges...so ignore my weirdo ramblings.

Honestly very nice, hope to see a detailed version. :)

just for you Sir:

http://www.silentthunder.de/pics/queen/queensize.jpg

since i have the plastic model i checked the size of the female
(=> http://www.silentthunder.de/pics/queen/queen3.jpg ) and added a human model next to the queen. the male model should be about 180cm high.

the normal size of a queen should be something between 3.5 and 4 meters.

I think it's the angle the pictures are taken from that make the queen look somewhat smaller than she should be.

I wouldn't mind getting a hold of that model for a project I am working on, what platform is it for?
