I think it's kewl, but the fireballs need more of a blinding white or even bluish tint to them, say, make the
color temperature 9KC instead of the apparent 1.5KC (flat white is about 9KC) fireball color.

It's her character in the upcoming film Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

Pretty nice. I've been working on one of those myself, but I can't seem to find a good background planet, and my turbolaser blasts look craptastic.

Looks good to me. I especially like the "The Price of Defiance" caption.

The visible coast looks like Africa, but there's a giant fireball where an ocean should be off in the lower right, which means that it's not Earth.

I'd like to see a veritable stream of green, but that's still a damn fine picture.

Impressive picture. The first BDZ I've seen.

I'd like to see multiple B-wing squadrons moving in just to make things interesting, but that's just me.

If you play Knights of the Old Republic, you see a version of the BDZ when one Sith battleship obliterates the surface of Taris. A tad underpowered compared to later Imperial methods, but still neat to watch the rain of turbolaser fire.

It's pretty but seriously for a BDZ I expect honestly a lot more in the way of explosions on the ground given what the ISD fires out.

There will be some time until such a view (need a new computer for that).
EDIT: fixed typo

Well it's nice, i guess
I expected a BDZ to be more...fireballish. I always thought it'd look something like what the Drej mothership did to Earth in
Titan A.E, but without th whole planet exploding. Like cracks forming on the surface and jets of magma shooting spaceward, and a screen of fire turning the planet slowly coal black, then nothing but a lifeless cinder, like Apokalips from the DCU, with big jets of fire coming out

A BDZ is actually a lot less cartoonish than that.
Here's a fairly well-known example of a
Victory-class Star Destroyer performing a Base Delta Zero:

Uh, Spanky, that showed a pic of a huge jet of fire shooting out of the planet's atmosphere
It was closer to what i said...

Perhaps. Your description seemed a bit more embellished, though...

Yeah, well then never read pulp sci-fi, they use more adjitives to describe a sucker punch than i used to describe a planet exploding

Cool. But where are the cracking tectonic plates?

Anyway it looks like it just started. Not enough smoke and fireballs. Maybe they just layed a first barrage to wipe the surface and the crust craking volley should come later.

Actually I seem to remeber something simillar from the trailer.
