I made this ship for a friend of mine. I think it turned out pretty well considering all I had to work from were a set of somewhat vague sketches.

Textures are from Freelancer, in case you're wondering.

Original concept by Nicholas Mahaffey and David Dixon.

Not bad at all. Keep up practicing.

Well, it's okay since you can in fact do something which most of us can't. But your friend's design isn't that good.

It looks too "sleek" to be a cargo hauler, though it does look "fat." It also looks like a bird, for some strange reason.

I agree with Shroomy, poor design, but that doesn't mean your technical skills are flawed. I say this not to diminish or disparage your skills. I'm just saying the ship itself looks ugly; not the artwork.

Its nose looks like a beak. Its body looks like a roasted turkey.

Get a better design and your work will be much better.

EDIT: And said beak nose is too...angular and sleek, like a stealth bomber, while the body looks like a bottle of mineral water.

Shroomy, you have a way with words that I envy. :)

Looking back on my comments makes me want to vomit.

Bob - essentially, the design of the ship looks ugly. But that wasn't meant to mean you suck or anything.

Thanks! :D I have a hyperactive imagination and can put it into words.

Here, have a barf bag *hands out barf bag*

The guy's right. It's just aesthetically unpleasing. And the ship's windshield looks too big, making the lower half of the ship's "head" look puny. The neck could use some thickening too.
