Coloring sketches in the GIMP

Found a nice tutorial on it on
gimp.org, and figured I'd give it a try.
So this is the first thing I came up with:

What was the origional medium for the sketch? No offense or anything, but it looks sort of like crayon to me. Pardon my artistic ignorance if the answer is something obvious.

Heh. I still prefer Photoshop. You might want to give Open Canvas a try.
