She probably flashed them during a flyby and they got so distracted by the b00bees they crashed.

The hull is intact...but those bullets bouncing around inside must've caused a buttload of damage. :P

She's hot, if I was single I do such naughty things with her.

Reminds me of that Far Side comic where the Red Baron is posing next to his plane and embalzoned on the fuselage alongside the other shot down planes is an image of Snoopy atop his doghouse ala the Red Baron.

What's the plane she's posing against? Twin prop, rear tripod landing gear - P38??

Who says she fired off a single round? Flashing her tits could have easily distracted the helmsman, hence, the nosedive into the ground? :P

I see that Montcalm has noticed the reduction in completely worthless posting since he "left" and has decided to take action.

I see that some people also like to carry grudges...

Okay this has got to be the absolute funniest shit I've seen.

The picture is a downed Federation craft....in flames. And somewhere an argument erupts why again?

Ah crap... didn't even see that. (Apparently didn't read what he wrote other than the 38 part too...)

Yeah, the 38 was tricycle gear... but that's still a 38's engine and tail assembly... so I guess it's just and artist screw-up or a made up fighter. :?

the main gear assembl's wrong to now that I think about it... so it's just a badly reserched pic or made up plane then. No real plane has a landing assembly like that one.

Maybe a twin mustang? thats the only dual motor twin boom fighter aircraft I can think of with landing gear like that.

It's a fantasy creation born of artistic license, it has elements of P-38, P-51, yet it also has Avro Lancaster-like nacelles.

Because I just have to...

There's no evidence that she actually shot the ship down herself or that she's even a real pilot. A propeller-driven plane couldn't get into space to shoot it down, and the Defiant probably has a stronger hull than an NX-01 shuttlepod (which giggles at WW2 era rounds). That and I can't imagine what could be aboard the Defiant that would burn like that while downing it, without making the warp core go up or visibly damaging the hull. Maybe the Defiant ran out of weapons and destroyed an enemy munitions depot by ramming it?

On second look...that's too small to be the Defiant anyway. Where the landing gear's tracks pass the ship they're about as far apart as the Defiant's hull is wide, and the tracks look to be about 6 ft apart as we near the plane itself. So if anything she shot down some tiny model of the Defiant. Which managed to put multiple holes in her plane without taking any hull damage. Defiant is hardcore, even miniaturized.
