Best of Classic Rock?

What bands do you consider embody the best of classic rock?

Jimi Hendrix Experience - Jimi Hendrix was a master at guitar

Led Zeppelin - So was Jimmy Page, excellent composer too.

Aerosmith - Catchy songs like "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion".

The Eagles - Melodic Songs

The Who - See above, I like "Baba O'Riley" very much

Black Sabbath - Ozzy. 'Nuff said.

Iron Butterfly - Who doesn't like a band who can have a fifteen minute drum solo?

Steppenwolf - Catchy songs again. "Magic Carpet Ride" and "Born To Be Wild"

Deep Purple - Awesome hard rock, "Smoke On The Water" is a must hear.

I've also begun to listen to Boston. They're a pretty good example of good classic rock.

Feel free to add or dispute this list. These are my opinions.

CCR
Pink Floyd
Steve Miller Band
Queen
The Doors
Cheap Trick
Cream
Kansas

Oh, and the band in my signature!

Just because it's more than fifteen years old does NOT mean it qualifies as classic rock!

HEY! That reminds me. Chardok, I met Steven Tyler a few weeks ago at a medeval festival on Cape Cod. He was really cool. We bullshitted for a few minutes while he gnawed on a turkey leg and waited for his wife.

I went through my library and pulled all the names of bands they played on my classic rock station (before it turned into Smooth Jazz :banghead: :finger: ). I know they aren't technically "classic rock" but they are the same era. Sort of. Not really. Dammit.

Haha, I am today's youth.

Although the 80s did produce a bunch of kickass bands. Like Van Halen.

That's it.
Your daddy works in porno
now that mommy's not around,
She used to love her heroine,
but now she's underground.
So you stay out late at night
and ya do your dance for free,
driving your friends crazy
with you life's insanity.

Axel Rose makes Steven Tyler his bitch any day of the week. Aerosmith's greatest contribution to music was lamenting over Ben Affleck's lost boner.

If you could combine AC/DC, Van Halen and Led Zeppelin, you would have the hardest rocking band that could ever be.

Jimi owns all.

Though I do also like Deep Purple, The Kinks, Rare Earth, Count Five, CCR, and the Rolling Stones.

Yes! But 80's bands are not classic rock!

I didn't mean to bite your head off, either, Stormie. But Yeeearggghhh! Frankie Goes to Hollywood on a classic rock station? What were they thinking!?

I love pretty much anything from the 70s that was loud and had attitude. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and AC/DC would be my faves.

The 80s mostly blew cock...
