Be gentle, it's my first attempt at making a starship.

I'd say that you should get rid rear "deflector" on top of the saucer section. otherwise it's OK.

It's supposed to be a bigass impulse engine.

what ever, it still doesn't look good. Merge it with upper edge of saucer section (so that there's straight line in dorsal edge of the ship (when looked from the side))

better, I think you should shift engineering hull back (make a bit like the ventral hull of the Akira.)

the impulse engine doesn't look right (it doesn't look it part of the ship) and how many nacelles does this thing have.

then I think it should made clear some how (best way is to connect them to hull in way that is impossible with just single nacelle (like Miranda, Nebula and Akira to name some examples)

EDIT: this is why I don't kitbash, there's more freedom when you do every thing yourself.

I would say try using the Miranda's impulse engines, and put the engineering hull back where it was in the front, it looked cool there, maybe extend it to the back of the ship and put impulse engines on that or something.

Padding the post count is fun.

The impulse engines look way better. You still may want to try extending the engineering hull all the way back. Certainly would make more sense with ST tech since in the current config the plasma lines for the nacelles would be going thru the entire ship to get to the engines, talk about loss of efficiency. :)

Definitely a nice looking ship though, reminds me vaguely of the Akira with the hull layout.

Nice. I like the original nacelles you picked for the first varient, but the swept back strakes of the second varient look better. Looks like a pretty solid ship.

I would looks good with the connie-refit nacelle pylons, have you thinked what would primary mission of this ship be.

I'm thinking Medium Crusier, put it between the Connie and Miranda in terms of firepower.

Looks interesting. Am I the only one that finds the big parabolic dish in the front a bit out of it's place?

no. That's why told him shift the engineering hull back(so that thedish would under the saucer.)

I meant, if it was by me, it shouldn't be there in the first place.

Now it looks like the bottom half of a WWII warship with decals glued to the top half of a cruiseliner with a huge rocket straped to the back.

With the exception of the dish sticking out like a sore thumb, this is my favorite version.
