Post your favorite Johnny Cash songs. My goal is to try and find some that I've never heard.

*Edit 2: Though these are numbered, they are in no particular order, except for #1-Sunday Morning Coming Down. That is indeed my favorite.*

I can't decide on my favorite, but I love "The Man Comes Around," which was also played in "Dawn of the Dead." He's got so many good songs, I dunno.

It can be hard to decide. Most of the ones that are my favorites are the ones I listened to with my Dad as a child, so there is sentimental attachment there. But I found that some of his newer work's are very powerful.

I should note that though my list is numbered, that they are in no particular order. Except for Sunday Morning Coming Down, that is indeed my favorite.

The only song of his I know is the one on Dawn of the Dead, I like the imagery of it, and since that's the only song I know, i choose that one.

Yeah, that movie was fucking awesome for putting his song at the beginning. That ruled.

Ring of Fire, it reminds me of when i used to get a Tandoori every friday with a few mates. And i don't care what people thing i like his cover of Hurt.

Love the Hurt cover. Though I have to admit I like NiN doing it better.

I'm on the robotics team at school, and the team wanted to name the robot "A Knight Named Sue" (the knight is the schools mascot), but the principle shot it down because it "Implied cross-dressing and sexual confusion." Johnny gets 10 more awesome points.

funny thing is that since the Muzak uplike is busted we have been forced to rely on CD's. All of which have to be approved by the management. So I can't get away with Nick Cave, or NIN however we have the Cash covers which are legit as per management. (yes, they are dumb enough to ban artists, and say a different artist's work is OK, even if it's the exact same song.)

Trent Reznor said in an interview that he thought Cash did the song better.

Its the song I hear in my head when Jessie Custer is singing in "Preacher", not the original Willie Nelson track

Ghost Riders in the Sky was one of my Dad's favorites, but he liked all of Johnny's songs. The ones that I remember hearing the most are:
