Pretty much what it says...

Velvet's been guiding me somewhat, but I keep getting frustrated.

Here's what I want to achieve...

And here's what I've got so far, though I'm not too happy with it...



Any advice and help y'all can offer would be greatly appreciated... also a walkthrough on the techniques I need to know, as I'm extremely unfamilar with anything but simple cropping/resizing and playing with color levels.

1. Select eyes

2. Open gradient menu (ctrl-M)

3. Choose "blue" from dropdown menu

4. Klick Curve in middle

5. Pull black dot that is now on the line up (or down for some versions of Photoshop).

6. If result is not satisfying choose "green" from drop down menu

7. Play with gradients until result is good.

Oh, and your eye selection in that picture isn´t that great. I suggest making a selection and then choosing "soft selection" (or whatever that´s called in the english version) from the menu "selection" with a value of 1 or 2 pixels.

A little better, though I'm still not quite happy with the color. A ring of red... ish... added around the edge of the iris now as well.



Again... suggestions appreciated...

BTW, I played around with that 'color levels' thing from the ctrl+m thing, and that was as yellow as it'd get to satisfy me.... ditto the red. Help?

(Oh, and you're welcome to do your own versions as well, to demonstrate or whatever, XaLEv already did)

And I'm surprised that that's as far as your gradients go. I'll have a look and see what I can do.

Butter knife? Hardly... just hadn't shaved in a few days and that's an old picture anyway

But yeah, that's as far as my gradients go, pretty much. I'm chalking it up to either a.) my inexperience or b.) the *ahem* method by which I procured my copy of P/S (and no, it was NOT off teh intarweb...). Feel free to experiment...

Everything from the inside of the natural iris is is yellowed, and then working out from that, you want to make it look like you've burst hundreds of capillaries and soaked parts of your sclerae in blood.

Pleasant thing to have, Sith eyes, are not.

Yeah, the whites of your eyes need to be redder. Try playing with that last pic you posted, and see if you can hue the whites do to a reddish-pink.

I don't really know what a sith eye is supposed to look like, but here's a try from the reference pic and the descriptions.. XD

I think this is the best result by far...

On another note, I think the Sith eyes are done with....*drumroll* custom contacts.

The latest eye modifications are cool, but the Sith Eyes have more yellow in em, less black. And I think that Aran's picture should be resized, since Sith Eyes aren't supposed to be seen up close. Anakin's picture is smaller and has more distance.

Anyway, I think he's got too much pupil. The yellow isn't showing enough.

YES!!!

Though maybe you'd like to make the point where the red and yellow connect a little more blurry. Look at the close up shot of Anakin, the red didn't merely just ring around the yellow, there were some parts where the red kinda flowed into the yellow part. But this is really just nitpicking.
