Can anyone recommend a good font for a starship's hull number?

Times New Roman is good, then you get trek fonts from the Net (I have several of those) what kind of ship are talking about?

It's not Trek or Wars, I just want something easily readable from a distance. Something that can plausibly be used in RL...

BTW Thanks Fima (kiss) :P

Use this one: http://www.1001fonts.com/font_details.html?font_id=869. It's called Blue Highway, and it either is or is modelled after the font they use on U.S. highway signs. It's designed specifically to be legible from a distance.

If you don't like that one, any sans-serif (like Helvetica) will probably do. Sans-serif fonts are the ones that don't have the little pointy things on them (Times New Roman = serif font. Arial, Helvetica, Verdana = sans-serif fonts).
