Can anyone recommend a good font for a starship's hull number?

Times New Roman is good, then you get trek fonts from the Net (I have several of those) what kind of ship are talking about?

Use this one: http://www.1001fonts.com/font_details.html?font_id=869. It's called Blue Highway, and it either is or is modelled after the font they use on U.S. highway signs. If you don't like that one, any sans-serif (like Helvetica) will probably do. Sans-serif fonts are the ones that don't have the little pointy things on them (Times New Roman = serif font. Arial, Helvetica, Verdana = sans-serif fonts).
