Obviously this fight was set up after having injected massive amounts of opium into Ben's veins. I mean, just look at the dead look in his eyes, it is obvious that the bird cheated to the point of practically putting an old man in a coma.

I looked at the last pic and immediately thought 'Why does Ben have 2 lightsabers?'

Am I the only one who took this to be the newest interpretation of the latest thread trend in AMP?
I definitely was prepared for a "Who is sexier, Larry Bird or Obi-Wan?"

This is much funnier and most likely less traumatizing.

He was so scared of the bird that he figured he should bring two.

Heh, indeed. As the old saying goes, "If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried."

Ms. Bird, actually. :)

And since she's going around killing Jedi, I guess it's quite appropriate that her name is Aurra Sing. :P (Aurra for short)

Oh, and some new pics, since I took the other ones a while ago.

Image

Image

Aurra has a new little friend. :D

I'm still trying to come with a name for the new one. I'm trying to think of something that means ghost or spectre, since my friend who works at the pet shop I bought the new bird from desribed her as "looking like a ghost" and I agree with her.

Any suggestions anyone? Preferably something feminine as the new bird is also a female. :)

Henki is Finnish for ghost, draugur, vofa, and andi are Icelandic for ghost, hayalet and hortlak are Turkish, and duša and prikaza are Serbian.

I got all those definitions from here. If any native speakers notice horrible translation mistakes, sorry! I liked all of those though.

Thanks, guys. :)

I rather like Henki and Banshee. They're both fun sounding words, so the bird is more likely to respond to them. Right now I'm leaning towards Banshee, however that could change.

Cockatiels are usually friendly birds, and like attention and affection. Aurra is a bit of an anomoly though. She's always been a bit timid and tends to try and escape from me. I think the reason for this is probably her previous owners. One day, they decided they didn't want her and their two other 'tiels, so they released them outside.

Domesticated birds won't survive on their own, and I get the feeling that they really didn't give a shit. In all likeliness she was neglected when they had her.

This happened to be near where a friend of mine lives, and her brother managed to catch one of them. They couldn't keep it for various reasons, so she asked me if I wanted it. I decided it might be interesting, so I did.

The second one I bought from a pet store. My main reason for getting a second bird is because I'm out most of the day, and I imagine Aurra must get pretty bored and lonely being alone all the time. The new one is very tame. Interestingly enough, Aurra seems to be more trusting now that she see's that the new bird trusts me. :D

About the collage, Aurra tends to be very bitey, and will nible on almost anything. Originally this work of art was just going to be one picture of her taking down Kenobi. All the others you see were originally attempts at snapping the pic at the exact second that she attacked him. When I looked over them, I realized they worked well together as a sequence.

Amusingly enough, I think the new bird has established herself to be higher in the pecking order than Aurra, despite the fact that Aurra is far more agressive.

Basically, cockatiels decide who is superior based on their singing ability. Aurra doesn't seem to want to accept this though, and still tries to steal the top perch, even though it usually happens that the higher ranking bird gets the higher perch. You should see her scamper away when the new bird starts singing though. It's like their society is based on the laws of American Idol. :P

It's actually closer to spirit then ghost, aave or haamu are more common word for a ghost or a wraith.

This is what I get for using an online translation service. I was being lazy, wasn't translating the words back from their language to English, normally that weeds out different definitions.

Well there's no reason to be ashamed as you were not wrong (for example Holy Ghost is Pyhä Henki in finnish), but word I used are more common.

Way higher. In fact Anakin was origianally a giant bird in TPM. They changed it due to budget cuts and the fact that it would make no sense with the OT and all.

Anyway, I decided on the name Banshee for the new bird. It was a hard decision, but I just like the sound of Banshee. Thanks for your suggestions everyone. :)

And now for a few more old pics.
