Something I threw together this morning thinking about flying Islands and such. A concept drawing for a cityship from my Novella.

Yeah, remember that BBCode uses the [brackets], while HTML code uses the <arrows>. I had some trouble with that at first as well.
You could also try photobucket for image hosting. Even so, it can be a pain in the ass at times.

Quite impressive! I like how you used Executor for scale. Anyway, the ship looks like one of those things you just don't want hyperspacing into your system.

Despite it's size, it's more of an 'Ark' type ship, not a true Warship. That said, given the tech level of it's creators, I wouldn't want to be a Star Destroyer in its path if it was ticked off.

That thing looks disgusting. Is it made out of stone? And what's with that giant claw coming out of the bottom?

Most of it is made out of stone. It uses a form of GravLev that can rip multi mile sized chunks of rock up from the Ground. The same field that provides lift also acts as a bubble keeping in atmosphere allowing for space travel. The 'Claw' on the bottom is actually part of the ships Reactor. The four 'claws' are massive field generatos that drawn in matter for annhilation.

That's crazy. Why have such an obviously vulnerable point to attack? It's worse than Independance Day.

Two things.

One, its not vital to the ship, if attacked and damaged, its not going to make the ship explode. It's only a fuel inlit, Blast Doors, Manual shut downs and shields will protect from anyone stupidly flying inside and making it go 'Boom'

Two, the over all shields are on par with a Star Dreadnaught (SSD) and it does not have an Earth Compatable Computer to which you can give it a Virus.

How is it not? It's a massive generator, isn't it? Part of the ship's reator? How does this not scream "ATTACK ME!"?

I see my ID remark was taken the wrong way. I mean it's a point of attack even more obvious than the big gun was in the moive.

Refer you to my previous comment, and I'm not even going to bother asking how this thing can have shields on par with a SSD.

*reads above*
You know, It's not supposed to be a warship, nor designed as such. It was built by a Religious Cult who thought their World was doomed. The ship was constructed as an Ark, full of art, science, culture, and all that junk.

Also I will admit its an obvious point of attack, but no one in the area of space it inhabits is going to be able to scratch the paint on it, let alone cause structrual damage, so the vase is moot.

As for the shields. I said on par with a Star Dredanaught, not an SST like the Executor itself. If you were to pitch it against StarWars ships, I'd say about 10 ISDs could take its shields down.

I still think the ship is a cool concept, and it's an original design. A ship like that wouldn't be some ubership, and you don't need to make it into such a thing. Not everything in a sci-fi universe has to have the ability to crush galaxies and have the most technobabble.
"Ooh, I can d3str0y g4l4xiez! I pwn j00 4ll!!!!!!11one+shift+eleven+one!!!!!!"
My own (abeit abandoned) sci-fi universe used fusion for power and didn't even have artificial gravity. Their ships and bases had spinning habitat modules.
