It's fairly simple in HW1 to alter the *.shp files and pump out HCs in a one second (plus the launching time). Dunno how easy that is in HW2, of course, since the bastard game doesn't like my computer .Ra wrote:Makes me wonder how long that would take to build. On HW1, it took me like over an hour to produce six Avatars. By then, the battle was already won, all that was needed was to frag the enemy mothership.

Yeah, my copy of HW2 also hated my computer, and never worked. How do you access the .shp files?Manus Celer Dei wrote:It's fairly simple in HW1 to alter the *.shp files and pump out HCs in a one second (plus the launching time). The *.shp files are stored in homeworld.big and update.big, in the homeworld directory. To edit them, you'll need a program to extract them , such as this nifty little oneby Taleisin. Then, just use a text editor like notepad to view and edit them. Stuff like cost, build time and weapon power are all easy to modify from there.Ra wrote:Yeah, my copy of HW2 also hated my computer, and never worked. Thanks a million. However, I can't seem to find a way to do anything outside of viewing. It won't let me edit the text, and when I save the file, it can't be changed.Manus Celer Dei wrote:The *.shp files are stored in homeworld.big and update.big, in the homeworld directory.
