Completely digital, although I drew it using a WACOM Tablet in Adobe illustrator. It's actually not done yet, the sword will look much better eventually...
Oh, and to VF555, considering that this is supposed to be a Bishounen Mecha, 'Exposed skeletal structure and weird ridges' are part of a giant robot...

Yes Dooey Jo, Amaterasu is very pretty. He was designed by a living bishounen on par with David Bowie in that movie Labyrinth.
