Our trip to the "Medieval Times" dinner theatre show.

If there's a Medieval Times show in your city, I recommend it. It's not cheap but it's a lot of fun and they really put on a good show.

And this is us at the Fort Malden Heritage show:

This is me at Fort Malden, not pleased at missing breakfast:

And this is Matthew, demonstrating that you can still intimidate people even when you're small, as long as you have a huge fucking gun:

And this is a shot from the Abingdon Renaissance Faire at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, Ontario:

I recommend the Renaissance Faire; it's a lot of fun. More info at http://www.ontariorenaissancefaire.ca/

Verily, I wield the battle axe of Copernicus.

Did any of them do the "convert or die, heathen scum!" routine, or did they just go "kill them and let God sort them out?"

Have a very nice day.

If your kids are anything like I was at their age, my guess is the Ren Fest must've been a pretty big draw on your checking account...

Your boys are just adorable Mike, especially the younger one (David IIRC?). You're going to have a hell of a time keeping the ladies away from them.

Nice pictures. The entire male side of the Wong clan is ready to get medieval. All that is missing is a picture of your wife in a princess-like dress.

*Snip pic of Mike dressed all medieval and stuff*
Well, it's not proof of the 'evil Wongite horde', but it's close enough.
That image cracks me up. I must find a use for it via photoshop...

And alas, I have no pictures of my own kids for various reasons too numberable and obvious to detail. :P Closest I can do is my Transformers collection, but that'd just be weird.

I kinda want to add the caption to the one of your son.

"arn't you a little small for a roman centurian?"

I seriously can't tell in that one of Mike in armour whether or not its a war cry or constipation... I feel photoshopping by someone more skilled than I may be in order...

When the other kids talk about how ninjas or pirates are unstoppable, your kids will just laugh and call in suppressing fire.

Medieval Times is quite entertaining. We had a school field trip there sometime when I was in high school (might have been a senior class trip...my memory's kinda fuzzy about field trips). Haven't made it to a renfaire yet (although my cousin keeps trying...timing just hasn't worked out). I have made it to a 19th-century campground, though. Blackpowder arms are definitely intimidating, with the large bore they tend to have.

And I'm tempted to make a joke about Vikings not needing long pants, but at 2:30 am I can't think of a punchline...

Bullcrap, he's showing how bigger caliber = better and brute firepower always wins the day! Definitely his father's son.

"Testudo formation this!" His brother is probably calling in an air strike.

That towed artillery piece is just the kind of thing that I would put on my lawn as an ornament. If I could get away with it... which is probably a negative.

*smirk*

Your eldest son is going through his growing spurt I see ... I forgot how 'stretched' young kids tend to look when they start grwoing so quickly. :)

Looks like you all had a good time.

That looks like a whole lot of fun. Though aren't you afraid some "folks" would have "fun" "modifying" that pic of you with that big axe?

Did you rent the medieval gear, and the big axe, or are they yours? If it's the latter, then that'd be very frickin' cool.

I'd assume that as they were at a medieval event, that they would have plenty of stuf for people to try out

looks awasome, I went to a similer thing here when it was the total eclipse, great civil war battle re-creation

No, it turns out that because of massive scheduling conflicts, I can't go on vacation this summer after all :(

We still want to go, but we're not sure when we can spare up the time.

Agh, too bad :( Well, I'm sure we'll meet up one day to plot the destruction of the Rebels.
