appeared on Mountain Stage this Sunday, and Nitram and I got to see her live in concert! Also appearing was GreenCard, good friends of Casey and her father.

It was a really rockin' show! No wonder Casey's gone gold Down Under! Her voice is one part Sheryl Crow and one part Alanis, her playing and back up band are awesome, and her songs... WOW... I want to find a place to get her albums now. I loved it.

Now I know that you've been in the (perceived) South of the US for too long - you think that Country Music, even the execrable Aussie stuff is good.

Casey Chambers COULD be an excellent vocalist if she just fucking moved away from the Tamworth circuit.

Remember, she grew up in the Outback (something Plateau?), with only her dad singing Country Music every night. Until she was in her teens, she'd never heard anything else.

Maybe she'll branch out one day, but for now I love what she's doing.

I personally think that Chambers has a wonderful voice, and I don't mind some of her songs, although I agree with Ando - she needs to get out of Tamworth.

She's certainly no Slim though, even though she sounds nicer. It should be noted that I grew up with country music too.

And since when did such a place as the 'Outback' ever exist? There is no such thing, at all. Ever. :P
