Aint No Trees In Iowa.

I took a walk around my house Friday afternoon after lunch and snapped a few digital photos of the scenery. As you can tell there's a lot of hideous foliage on the trees around the place (especially around the driveway), but fortunately it should be gone in another month or two once winter kicks in.
I did manage to find some good-looking subjects while I was out, at least:

Pfft, those are fucking shrubs. Real trees are at least a hundred feet tall!

And those are the little ones!

If it's any consolation, I only took one photo of myself; I could have filled the rest of the disk with them and uploaded the best.
The one of the 240D is a retake, though. Man, that was a nice car when the brakes were good and there wasn't a broken seal on the rear axel...

My dad had a 300D. Then the tranny blew out and one of the motor mounts broke off the frame.
Ah well, diesels are a PITA in wintertime.

Not if you switch to a winter fuel mixture.

Sunbelt cities like New Orleans (pre-Katrina) don't have such nice technological winter-countermeasures. Of course I can't really vouch for any city other than NO because NO was just barely above Third World anyway. Let's just say moving to a city that actually _works_ is quite the culture-shock!

Put 250,000 miles on a 1982 vehicle and wore out one too many parts worth more than the car's current ~$500 value.
