I'm curious about this video for anyone who has background knowledge of it. Are all the different shots showing the same atomic explosion?
What's the approximate yield of the explosion here?

Crossroads Baker. Around twenty three kilotons detonated 90 feet below the water.

That's actually an excerpt from Trinity and Beyond: The Atomic Bomb Movie.

Thanks Einhander :)

Damn, that's only 23 kt! Multi-megaton nukes, which would be a hundred times more powerful must pack a real nasty detonation.

Find a video of the Tsar Bomba explosion. It will blow your mind.

I've searched far and wide for this without any luck. I guess you have to purchase some videotapes to get the real deal.

FYI, your link fails at life. They evidently won't let you hotlink directly to content.

Copy & paste works, though.

Some good atomic explosion footage here; my personal favorite is the Atomic Cannon test. Be sure to check out page 2 and 3 as well; the second page inludes closeups of nuclear airblasts, and the third includes movies of missile launch failures; those of course aren't nuclear explosions, but they're still worth a look.
