These are some pictures I took while flying a Piper Archer II over the Seattle Space Needle. They were taken the day before Thanksgiving. For those of you wondering if I was too close, rest assured that what I was doing was totally legal.

Oh yes, I tried to turn off the flash, but the stupid camera wouldn't let me.

Wicked Pilot,

Nice pics. I'm assuming you took those pics with just one hand? Can't be easy to do while flying otherwise....

A small plane wouldn't have autopilot, would it?

Actually two hands. The Piper Archer is very stable, it won't move two much if you let go for a second or two, especially if you have it trimmed properly and you're in smooth air.

One or two axis autopilots come as an option on most small aircraft these days. If I remember correctly, this plane had a one axis system. I wasn't using it though, it was an old setup that I was unfamiliar with.

Probably just a wing-leveller or similar. Not like the plane won't fly itself for the time it takes to snap a picture (properly trimmed, of course ;))
