Joe Satriani plays "Surfing with the Alien"

Steve Vai plays "For the Love of God"

Yngwie Malmsteen plays, well, it starts out as "Far Beyond the Sun" and then goes nuts.

Solo my ass, he was clearly playing with a band. :P

Seriously, that's pretty fucking amazing. Especially where he lifts it over his head.

fucking awesome guitar solo
Awesome bits, I think that I'll be buying the original tracks for most of these [
I only had the "Surfing with the alien" before this].

How the hell did he do that? How did he strum and hit frets with one hand?

Damn straight, you should see this guy that parodies him, he's fucking awesome, if the next Limp Bizkit album actually had him on it, I would buy it.

Theodore Ziras is superb too, check these out: sweep madness and some more hyperfast sweeping.

Wow. That guitar playing is so bad, I was expecting him to be heckled, with him responding "I'd like to see one of you play better!" right before a young Eric Clapton takes the stage and outdoes him.

Ah yes, shredders. All speed and no phrasing.

About the double solo in the OP. I was looking at that guitar and thinking how it could be used as a weapon in FLCL. Then it hit me, Sango's weapon (from Inuyasha). A giant gitar-boomerang, that would be so awesome!

I'm not sure, but it is possible. Some Zeppelin footage I saw has Jimmy Page doing a very similar thing, although with just one guitar.

EDIT: The Crazy Train bit at the end just put it over the top, and I don't even like Black Sabbath that much.

EDIT: Osbourne, not Sabbath

Crazy Train is an Ozzy tune, not Sabbath.

Herman and Sam kick Vernon's ass:

Dragonforce - Through fire and flames

Guitar wankery in the extreme.

I'd like to see them go head to head with malmsteen

on another note, the sound their guitars are making reminds me of the synth instruments used in the Megaman X series. (a good thing, imho)

On the other hand, that fact that Steve Vai got his ass kicked by Ralph Macchio loses him a lot of cred.
