Warhammer 40k inspired me to color

This one's lineart was magically knicked off of Roberto Cirillo's Design Studio, and seeing as I've developed a thing for Vostroyan Guardsmen, I decided to do my best at coloring and lighting it the other evening. I only did the guy on the far right, but I may go back and start on the next two if I can wrap my head around what's supposed to be what material.

There's nothing fancy with lighting effects and only some minor texturizing, but I think it works well except for a couple spots. I should put it up on my website as another one of my photoshop examples but I thought at the least show it off here for now.

My mother saw it while I was compositing the image and insisted all three of them were the Wicked Witch of the West's guards.

Thats very good, very professional looking. It looks kind of like those color types they use in comics now adays (you know they kind of look bright and sheen, like BattleChasers did).

Very well done.

Interesting, that Guardman is not holding a las-rifle. There can be no doubt that it is a slug-thrower. It seems to be wood-finished too.

ps I think we should include a new character named Zeitzev, who counts as an Assassin.

It is in fact a wooden-stocked lasgun, due to the muzzle design and the powerpack. They've got Lascannons as well. Although an autogun would function the same as a lasgun in the rules so nothing's stopping someone from fielding their troops with them, as per the original Imperial Army and some really backwater regiments.

I went for the stardard colors as I liked them and knew it'd give good contrast (plus they're totally the kind of colors I would have picked on my own anyhow); I did a quick test with dull fur green, navy blue, and unpolished steel, but I didn't get the same effect. Deep blue and silver might look good, though.

And totally wrong Russian era, Bear. :P

Doesn't matter any enemy of man will loose heart in the face of his oneshot one kill uberness...

Um, sure Bear.

Other than the fact it's still a plain-old 3 Strength, zero AP lasgun, and that hat could be seen from 300 yards.

Yeah, I've fallen for the Vostroyans too. Your colouring is also extremely good Uts; spiffy.

I hate how you seem to innately understand how shadows fall.

That's funny, because he just now told me this:
