Brian Johnson of AC/DC can oftentimes be completely incomprehensible.

Mick Jagger is fairly comprehensible. Once and a while you'll get a word you don't quite understand, but there are far more incomprehensible vocalists out there.

And I have to second Brian Johnson - incomprehensible but awesome. I actually think that's he is better than Bon Scott.

Well... I'd say Nirvana, but I don't really like them.

I suppose Bjork; sometimes she can get a little incomprehensible, particularly when she's really working her voice.

Well, Bon Scott was actually a better singer, in my ears - but Brian Johnson has a LOT of energy, and I really dig that raspy voice.

My sister says that Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) is up there, and I'd tend to agree.

Tarja Turunen, and it's unfortunate they had to boot her because she has quite a dynamite voice.

the bear's favorite would be James "papa's got a brand new bag (of drugs)" Brown, the godfather of Soul.

Yeah, Bon Scott probably has an objectively better singer voice - but Brian Johnson has a lot more power and his voice suits the music better. In any case if you listen to AC/DC for musical virtuosity you're in trouble anyway.

Early Michael Stipe, where he mumbles and slurs most of the words.

If we count talking then it's definitely Ozzy Osbourne, trying to understand him when he speaks is next to impossible yet it's goddamn hilarious for some reason.

Max Cavalera, Sepultura, Soulfly. The dude kicks ass.

Early Geddy Lee from Rush. His voice mellowed over the years, but it was screeching and shrill on their earliest releases, such as the self-titled album and Fly by Night.

Like Rye, I've got some darker selections to throw out:

Legion/Mortuus from Marduk
Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ
Ronny Dörfler of Cryptic Wintermoon (sorry no Link)
Henrik Wenngren of Skyfire
Marcus Bischoff of Heaven Shall Burn
David Vincent & Steve Tucker of Morbid Angel
Karl Willetts (and others) of Bolt Thrower. These guys crush like a tank. Willetts' replacements over the years were OK, but Karl is still the best Bolt Thrower vocalist IMHO.

That's enough evil for now, I think.

Well be fair, he's probably the only person I know of who's still high from the drugs he took 20 years ago.

I like that guy Sean Paul.

I cant understand a word he says but my mom can, and after she sat and, literally, translated each line from a song for me i found out i like it cause its funny. :P

But to me it still sounds like he's speaking Lakota or something!

Elvis Costello's vocals aren't as incomprehensible as some of the singers mentioned here, but he does have songs where you can't understand half the words.

Oh how could I forget? Sauron from Anal Stench, who aren't just incomprehensible like most DM bands, but sing in Russian (or ukranian or something) too!

I don't believe I left out BRUJERIIIIA!

Oh and Nergal from Behemoth (man do they look silly, but the slow death metal style = excellent). Nergal cheats by multi-layering his vocals, though.
