T-shirt Design

I'm entering a t-shirt design competition for our marching band and I have two designs that I need help on.
Our show's theme is "Moondances" (Yeah, it's kinda gay)
Here are the designs in question:

Last year, my design won, but it wasn't suited for the screeners and the shirt came out horrible (in my opinion). This year, I simplified it a lot. Any comments on these would be greatly appreciated.

What songs are you playing?
1st one wins. However, I would suggest making the text inside the big circle, or something similar. That looks too empty right now. Or maybe curve the text around the white circle.

Replace the flag twirler with a girl with a baton, change the title to "Chicks with Sticks" and you've got a winner.

if they ever go to any competitions wearing that shirt, Joe, other bands would be happy to severely beat, if not shoot all of them.

I've completely revamped the whole thing (assuming it's not too crazy for the screeners) and added an '07 just for kicks.

See, if I was going to do a theme like that, I'd try to get (or photoshop) a picture of an astronaut doing either "Thriller" or "Smooth Criminal"

I think the Designs in the first post are far superior to the colorful last ones.
Also remember that these bright colors with lots of gradients don´t print as well as black and white images. Esspecially on cloth.
