I heard about this on NPR, I have yet to attempt it though.

Since I started seeing this stunt on tv I began wondering if someone found out about this because they had tried to drink some diet soda while they had a Mento in their mouth.

From what they were doing on David Letterman's show the fountain effect seems to be stronger if the mentos are placed in a 2 liter bottle right after it's opened.

For those that watch it, Mythbusters will be testing this on the upcoming show - Weds the 9th 9:00 EST, bring your raincoats and umbrellas

These guys deserve a medal, I was most entertained!

I take it they will try to make one something around 6 stories into the air?

does the effect get more if you put more menthos into the bottle?

This has been mentioned and shown here at least a dozen times, is all over You Tube and has even been on Letterman.
