In times of trouble, hybrid children come to me...

The Thing That Should Not Let it Be

They have about a dozen more songs of Beatles Metallica blends, but this one is the best of the lot.

An interesting idea, but yeah, that particular execution is pretty bad.

One hybrid I really like, and think works rather well is the Linkin Park bluegrass tribute album. Not as much a hybrid as the same songs done in another genre, but somehow LP's songs translate to bluegrass quite nicely.

Bollocks to that, the Therion version of O Fortuna is superior to Orff's (personal opinion), and Nile's Ramses Bringer of Waris about on a par with Holst's Mars, totally different, but awesome. Totally brutal, so I wouldn't expect most people to get it, but the lead parts and the triplets when it returns to the original rhythm are awesome, and the music is about as complex (even if less accessible).
