My tank
This is a 3D modeling of a tank I have been making.
Its based heavily off the TX-130 fighter tank.
I haven’t been bothered to add a lot of colour lately due to work, and I am still new to the program.
I don't like the middle "command pod" but I couldn’t make anything look better due to my inexperience with the program.
Any comments and critics welcome. Thanks.

Very nice, although I recommend deleting the two small turrets, adding a larger turret exactly like one of the small sponson turrets (essentially take the small turret, make it bigger, and plop it right down on the turret ring), adding a coax machinegun, and maybe put two sponson MGs where the turrets were. Maybe another commander's MG on the main turret as well.

I want to do something different with the command pod, any ideas would help.
But I am not changing the side wings.
I was thinking of adding a mini-gun if I change the command pod...
Ideas?
And the circle on the command pod is a bad attempt at a hatch.

The only good reason to have fixed-axis guns is if the gun is so large that it can't practically be put on a turret. But this would imply that it's more akin to a self-propelled artillery piece than a tank.
Going the other way, if the guns are small and relatively weak, they should definitely be on turrets.

Put an autogun turret, kind of like the small one on a Bradley. And the guns on the sides? Making 'em rocket tubes would be mighty sensible.

Well I'm working on it now and I have enlarged the guns.
I am also adding a double barrrel gun that mounts around the hatch (somthing like a modified MK-38)

Quick note regarding the turret/tank tangent, a tank is a weapon with a turret, while something that can't exactly traverse is considered a self-propelled gun/artillary.
On the model, I don't have issues with the command pod, more like the forward of it looks heavily undetailed.

SPG usually have turrets as well. Something designed to take out tanks, with a limited traverse gun is known as a tank destroyer. No one makes them anymore, for fairly good reason.Ace Pace wrote:Quick note regarding the turret/tank tangent, a tank is a weapon with a turret, while something that can't exactly traverse is considered a self-propelled gun/artillary.

That's a non-traversing gun platform. Of course, it's a huge artillery piece rather than a direct-fire combat weapon.

Ah, a future-ified STRV 103...
Very nice.

Edited for technical details.

To nitpick, the M-110's gun does have limited traverse (30 degrees to each side of centerline):That's a non-traversing gun platform. Of course, it's a huge artillery piece rather than a direct-fire combat weapon.
The only vehicle I can think of with a rigidly-fixed gun is the STRV 103 pictured above. Aside from a few modified Hetzers (Starr), but those were far and few between. Most every other tank destroyer, tracked howitzer or SPG has at least some limited traverse and elevation. The STRV 103 can elevate and depress its hull, as well as slew the gun side to side by turning the whole vehicle. The M110A2 is a heavy self-propelled artillery piece designed to provide general artillery support to ground troops and close general support to armored columns, and was built in the early 1960's. It is highly mobile and maneuverable, and can be airlifted in large cargo aircraft. The gun is an 8" Howitzer traversing in it's (sic) own mount at the rear of the vehicle. The large spade at the rear is required for the massive recoil. It is hydraulically raised and lowered, and keeps the vehicle in place when the gun is fired. With a range of 20 miles, it has pinpoint accuracy. Being mounted on a tracked chassis allows it to support infantry or armor in nearly all terrain conditions. This diesel powered chassis is used for two other vehicles one of which is the M578. It weighs 52,600 lbs, and has a top speed of 34 mph.
Edited for technical details.

Ammo for the turret? Well, inside the turret and the command pod (which is where the turret is on). The rockets? Disposable one-shot tubes.Ace Pace wrote:And ammo is where?Shroom Man 777 wrote:Put an autogun turret, kind of like the small one on a Bradley. And the guns on the sides?
