Wee! Latest project. About two days of work. Still adding details and yet to add weapons. It's to scale, which means it's 500m long. Pretty big for a frigate, especially a sensor one. Also, cookie to who can guess the names origin without the aid of google.[/img]

You don't mean Huygen, do you?

Anyway, that looks very cool.

Looks good. I imagine its crews would nickname it "The Fly" or something. :D

Hugin was one of Odin's ravens. The other one is Munin. Their names mean Thought and Memory.

Any chance you play EVE-Online? The Huginn is a recon ship in that game, so it's interesting that you picked the name for a sensor frigate. Anyway, it's a good start... what software are you using?

Tasoth uses SketchUp by Google, if I recall correctly.

Looks nice. I donĀ“t like the balls though.

I use Sketchup five, the geodesic domes were done with a plug in. I figured putting massive sensor domes on a recon ship would be a smart idea. Also, it is named after Odin's ravin and I'm probably going to maul the hull afterwards to make a Munin too..

Balls on a shaft, shouldn't the balls be on the other end?

I'm liking the balls, makes it look a bit like the Lexx, a bit insect-like. For a sensor ship the domes make perfact sense, replicas of the big golf-ball domes used to hide and protect the early warning radars of the DEW line.

Shrunk the domes and anchored them better. Also, added the primary turrets. This a shot from the bottom showing the cargo doors and four docking points for fighters(Read: Corvettes). If I hadn't of changed the domes, they'd have been inline with the turret barrels.

I was thinking that having the 4 globes arranged around the "spine" rather than along it would give better overall sensor coverage.

All of these look freaking awesome! You could have some set up as different ships, like various classes and such. Keep them coming.
