Borg War Episode 8 is up!

Post by kephren »

Episode 8 of Borg War is available!

In this next-to-the-last episode, Picard tries desperately to find a weakness in the Borg flagship before the master Borg intelligence discovers that the Enterprise is disguised as a Borg cube. Meanwhile, Tuvok and the Mi'Qoch clan must survive hordes of mutant spider-Borg to discover the secret of the Borg invasion. See this episode at:

BTW, Borg War passed the 100,000 view milestone last week, thereby making it one of the most popular fan films of all time, even though it is not yet fully released.

BORG WAR FINALE!!!

Post by kephren »

Borg War is finally complete! With 120,000 downloads/views even before the final episode was released, Borg War is already the world’s most popular independently-produced, feature-length animated Star Trek movie. ("Very Cool!" -- Tim Russ)

For the next few days, the entire movie can be downloaded (high res, mp4 or wmv, no watermarks, director's cut) from:

http://www.machinima.com/films.php?series=Borg%20War

I’m not certain how much longer I’ll be able to keep that pristine version available, so if you want this movie for your own computer for future viewing and sharing, you’d be wise to download the files this weekend.

I want to thank the fan community for pushing me to make this the best movie I was capable of making.
Any and all comments are appreciated.

Borg War DVD available

Post by kephren »

As a quick update, the online version of Borg War (available just about on every video site) has hit 250,000 download mark. As a result, $2,500 has been donated to help Ethiopian orphans, mostly to buy toys, food and medicine at an orphanage in Addis Ababa that serves about 400 HIV+ children. My thanks to all the people who downloaded!

Now, as the result of numerous requests, I've created a DVD of Borg War that I'm selling for the cost of reproduction and S/H. The contents, of course, are free -- just like the download. The DVD can be ordered at http://www.borgwarmovie.org

The DVD been professional reproduced, so it will play on all DVD systems at full resolution (720*480) and 5.1 Dolby. More importantly, the movie has been returned to its original feature-movie edit, with chapter menus, bloopers and the theatrical trailer. The quality is really quite amazing – much better than the downloads.

Complete movie now available for download

Post by kephren »

I made the "feature movie edit" version of Borg War available as a single free download.

The file is full resolution with the Windows Media codec (.wmv file) and is only 360Mb, as opposed to the 900Mb required for the "episodic" version.

I also put up a lower resolution version (smaller file) and a .mp4 version for Apple users.

These are pretty much what's on the DVD but with some loss of quality due to data compression, a watermark, and no Dolby 5.1 sound.

The free downloads are filed under the "FREE STUFF" on http://www.BorgWarMovie.org.
