If you've played ST Armada II, then you're familiar with the three new ship classes they introduced in the game, which unfortunatly aren't canon. ;\ Anyways, the ships are:
Venture: A small scout ship that could be upgraded to detect cloaked vessels. This ship was very lightly armed, it only had one phaser. Nevertheless, it was as valuable as a Galaxy or a Sovereign.
Iwo Jima: It was a marine transport (apparently the Feddies had marines, lol) that could beam soldiers over to ships or stations or even planets and attempt to take them over. The ships were incredibly useful and when I used to play the game, I took over many a enemy ship and station, including a few Borg cubes. Anyways, the Jimas had this "attack transport" move, where it would attack a ship or station or planet and as soon as it's target's shields dropped, it would automatically beam troops over.
Aegian: This was an odd ship, it was frigate, according to a site I went to, yet you had to construct them at the advanced shipyards. The Aegian had a pretty interesting hull design, I'll try and post a picture of it later. Anyways, it had this "Shield Enhancer" ability you could research. The Enhancer when activated would temporarily enhance the shields of all nearby allied ships. Out of the three, I liked the Aegian the best, probably because of the way it looks.
Anyways, what I'm getting to is that these three ships would be a huge asset to the Federation, in non-game terms.

Actually the Venture is canon and from Star Trek: Insurrection.

Considering that it served as a utility vehicle for a half dozen personel in Insurrection I see nothing wrong with the Armada statement.Aya wrote:True, but the Venture has a crew of four with one officer in command.
