My candidate has to be the episode when Neelix left Voyager. Now, I was glad his character was gone, but they never explained how those other Talaxians managed to cross half the Delta quadrant and end up in that asteroid field.
Chris: "Way to go dad, fight the machine"
Stewie: "How do you know about the machine?"

Worst Voy Ep

Post by Biddybot »

Nuts to the lot of you! :P 'Threshold' was a fun ep. Here's why in my review of it when it first aired:

'What starts out being an inspirational story about challenging theoretical limits soon segues into a medical and scientific mystery when chief test pilot Paris returns from his triumphant flight and begins...changing. The stranger Paris becomes, the less tied he is by human inhibition. Confined to sick bay, he soon turns into a grotesque, seeming reflection of his own moral decay and inadequacies, lashing out at sympathetic friends and superiors alike in his fatalistic terror. Where this all eventually goes is unpredictable and wild, either someone's smirking observation that man will never truly evolve beyond his neanderthalic tendencies to bop partners over the head and drag them off to mate with, or proof positive that writers were high as a kite when they concocted this. High-concept Trek at its looniest and most memorable! Once you see the ending, you'll never forget it.
Cute loose body part gag; excellent makeup and F/X throughout; exciting teaser and setup; a perfect zinger of a line by Tuvok; awful science, about as convincing as watching Kirk outwit three alien brains in a display case; a cheap fake death scene; the Holodoc makes a wakeup call. Rating: B(objective)/A(subjective). Recommended for trash lovers. P.S.: Continuity department needs a thump on the head. Even the old Enterprise of Classic Trek fame broke 'the warp 10 barrier' on occasion ie. 'That Which Survives', etc.'

One of my worst eps was about the two Ferengi that got lost in a wormhole in TNG showing up in VOY as con men on an alien world full of gullible, stupid people. The Ferengi managed to out-debate Janeway at one point. It was horrendously embarrassing to watch and the beginning of the end of my disenchantment with that particular character.
