Heads up for potential ENT claims

Post by seanrobertson »

Hiya.

I don't know the name of last night's episode, nor did I watch most of it. I did take notice when the NX-01 ventured inside something similar to an asteroid field. We saw a number of rocks hit the hull, probably at fairly low velocity...I'd guess no more than 150 m/sec.? The rocks themselves were maybe shuttlecraft sized...I'll have to view the episode again to be sure.

Anyway, rabid folk will tout this is something incredible: be prepared!

The NX also shot at some asteroids. I couldn't tell how big all of them were, but they were just fragmented into big pieces. The performance was actually not bad for Akiraprise's old guns, but I don't think it'd require something much more significant than the power ratings we're told about in "Silent Enemy" (roughly 500 GW-5 terawatts for both fwd. cannons).

Undoubtedly, this, too, will be exaggerated to incredible degree. Does anyone know when UPN will air this episode next? I would actually *gulp* tape it and make vidcaps if it'd be helpful to head off wild claims at the pass.

That is all :)

I think they replay the episode on Sunday at 8. At least in my area. You can check tvguide.com for yours.

Well considering that it was a re-run those claims should have already been made by now.

It was?! LOL...egg on my face

I didn't know that. I guess even the most hard-core Trekkies hate ENT now. (Hey, I'm a Trekkie, but I don't intend to exaggerate what I see on the show any more than, as a Warsie, I'd claim Vader could deflect a DS blast w/ his lightsaber.)

I'm still curious to take a closer look at the scene, though.

Berman: Look at what we wrote! Isn't it so zany and incisive?
