I thought this was the Pure Star Trek form...

So, we are trying to think up Star Trek only ways to kill the Borg

Fine, sarcasm aside the best borg killer would be to get rid of all that holodeck, replicator, family crap etc from a galaxy or soverign class vessel, your choice. Fill the space with torpedos, phasers etc... replace the food stock with rations (replicator basis for food) and add a few more sheild generators while your at it. Redundancy is always a good thing. Mabye even some albative armor to add just that much more protection.

Actually, I'd like to see them add two "decorative warp nacelles" like an Interpids on each starship.

Each one is actually a self-contained mini-ship, with 2 anti-matter reactors. One powering its own shields, and one to another shield dish.

They run into a borg ship, blast the thing with one from each, and when one burns out, use the other one.

That would be a huge increase to the firepower of a federation ship

Provide of course, changing frequencies to one the borg didn't adapt to would work.

With standard starship-grade shields, this weapon should probably kill a Borg cube with one hit.

I don't see why this idea would evade the geniuses in Starfleet.
I was under the impression that the three ships the Borg blew away in Best of Both Worlds as they wee approaching Earth was some sort of Kamikaze ship/missile.

I have no idea. Whatever it was, it was really pathetic. Darn things were as big as a ship and not really that fast, but they got blown away really quickly. They never really said what it was they did, but it did look like the only real warships we've ever seen.

I though they looked significantly smaller than the Enterprise relatively speaking, and since they approached to point blank range and didn't fire (or even have shield flare) I assumed that they were some kind of missile.
