If you're going to focus you're movie on an 8yr old...make sure the little fucker can ACT.
You know the worst thing? I remember seeing the making of special before the film came out, and it showed the three Anakin finalists. Two sucked- including that little cutesy Jake Lloyd. But the third (the test scene was with Natalie Portman, in the 'are you an angel' scene) was great. He had attitude. He was serious. He wasn't 'look at me, I'm a cute kid that can't act!' ... he could actually act, IMO. At least, he was right for the part.

Master of Ossus wrote:Actually, I disagree with one of your criticisms. The Rift was somehow supposed to block all of their sensors, preventing the commander from knowing that a battle was going on in it at least until Picard and the E-E should have exited the Rift.

HOWEVER, I also think it was idiotic beyond credibility for Picard and his officers to willingly chart a course that took them through an area in which they could not maintain sensor contact with the fleet meant to protect them.
Weather it was a current scan or a copie of a scan from minutes or hours ago, if the Enterprise had a display showing the Feddie fleet, then the Feddie fleet should have had a fix on them at roughly the same time. The Feddie fleet was sent to help the Enterprise, yet when the Enterprise did not continue on their course (surely they would have passed the rift in less time in warp than it took to do the battle) they did not move to intersept or investigate.

Ya, god damn me, I do. While it has numerous flaws, it was an entertaining film. I was head and shoulders above Nemesis.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

*shrug* Enterprise was forty minutes from the fleet when they entered the Rift. Given the length of the battle at best the Fleet my have been wondering why Enterprise wasn't showing up on their long range sensors. And for all we know the Fleet could have been its way, no long range comms remember? So they couldn't have told Enterprise they were coming for us to find out.
So why were they cloaked? wtf.gif What the fuck were they scared of? Can the Romulans for some unkown genetic fucked up reason, desing super weapons, super cloaks but no shields to match? Well? If they had 'such an impressive arsenal' doesn't it seem reasonable that they would have a comparitively impressive shield system?
Maybe just to toy with them? Obviously they do have the shields, because all the fire they took from Enterprise and the warbirds only reduced shields by 30% , while the three good guys were FUBAR in short order.

For those commenting about the Scimitar shields being too weak. I suggest you check my other threads A detailed analysis of the battle indicates the Scimitar had shields of such a high level to stagger the mind. The Enterprise had 160 seconds of time with the Scimitar cloak down were it could fire all of its weapons at will. After this the Scimitar was down to 70% shields.
