Sarek/Picard mind swap?

Post by Enola Straight »

In the episode where Sarek is suffering from Bendai syndrome and requires a mind meld with Picard, is he just getting a temporary jump-start to his control, or is there a complete mind swapping taking place?

Edit: Talk about paying attention to what I write! My post was supposed to be: Wasn't the name of this episode "Sarek"?

It appears just the part of his mind that was deteriating was transfered to Picard so that Sarak could maintaine control until he finished his business.

In other words, Picard became a file cabinet for Serak.

Picard just got all of Sareks emotions, because Sarek was unable to controll them anymore.

They were sharing assets. Picard had to absorb the brunt of Sarek's emotional distress so that Sarek could conduct negotiations with his usual calm demeanor.

Sarek was able to use Picard's discipline to support himself, while Picard expressed all of the emotion that Sarek couldn't afford to show.

If I remember rightly that was a pretty good episode. Sarek (Mark Lenard) is a damned good actor. Sarek was one of the more interesting carryovers from TOS...
