The Nova might not last long, but if its lasts long enough for the battlegroup to mass fire and knock out the Scimitars cloak, thats out of the picture.

Scimitars only hope would be the thalaron weapon from long range. The fed battlegroup and their lack of characer shielding would be devastating

Urm, assuming that the Fed battlegroup is not being stupid and is relatively spread out, could the Thalaron cannon even affect all the ships at once?

Its theoretically capable of wiping out a planet. I think that is wide enough for standard Fed fleet movements.

If not wide enough to take out the whole battle group, at least take out enough of it to be able to engage using conventional weapons
