I do not think Kirk's Enterprise would have made it back to the AQ.
How would he have gotten past Borg space? Without Kes, Voyager
would not have made it back either.

Not true. Remember that Sulu had a collection of antique projectile weapons (mentioned in "Shore Leave.") They'd slaughter any Borg that came aboard.

I use the Dancing Monkey from Monkey Island 2 for my avatar on most boards, but the animated gif didn't fit within the filesize limits on this one so I modified one of my sprites (itself originally based on a sprite from Mega Man 2, although the head is pretty much the only part that wasn't significantly altered) to give it a more Empire-ish feel (it's supposed to be me in stormtrooper armour with a red lightsabre, in case you didn't know.)

Right. It has not been conclusivley proven that bullets are un-adaptable. And if they beamed 500 drones into the Enterprise, do you think there would be enough guns to go around?
Voyager summed up in 1 quote:

Neelix: These people dont appreciate what they have! This ship is the match of anything in a hundred lightyears, yet what do they do with it?
(fake voice) Oh, well lets go find some space anomaly today that'll rip it apart!

KIRK: Ludicrous speed go

CHEKOV: You mean the Star Trek 5 ludicrous warp drive sir, or the 500 parsecs in under five years at warp 1 ludicrous speed sir?

KIRK: Star Trek 5 will do.

SULU: Ludicrous speed aye sir. ETA twelve hours..

I would also remind you that Kirk has dealt with things that would slaughter the borg with contemptuous ease. EG the doomsday device.

If things get bad, Kirk will beat them all up, tearing his shirt in the process.

I wonder if the Borg (stupid as they are) would fall for the Corbomite Manuver?

That'd be hilarious.

Also Kirk (and crew's) skill with hand to hand combat and impromptu melee weapons would make short work of any Voyager-era Borg (except for the hapless redshirts). Once Kirk's shirt gets ripped, no drone gets away unbloodied!

If Archer's crew could handle a few borg, so could Kirk's (and with more flare and camp). ; )

Kirk also has his charm he can turn on anytime to get any female help that is needed!

On the other hand, if we are sending Kirk back to the Delta quadrant, who's to say this isn't the DQ of the 23rd century?
